Often referred to as the original 'Drifter', Jim walked from his OM Bali Pro win and top 16 position on the pro tour in 1981 to return to his passion of seeking out the most perfect and isolated waves he could find. An indo pioneer, Jim is well known for his ability to find empty perfect barrels and has been exploring the long winding barrels of Indonesia since the '70's.

Jim spent many years surfing spots like giant Outside Corner Uluwatu, G-Land and Desert Point by himself or with just a few friends. Jim created the Indo Odyssey to recapture the magic of those early Indo pioneer experiences of surfing super high quality waves in remote locations.

Jim still runs a couple of trips per year on the Indo Odyssey.
